The American Hockey Coaches Association announced its Fourth Annual "Krampade All American Scholars" on Tuesday and 20 Lake Forest College players made the list.
Due to the effects of Covid-19 on actual grades in the spring, the AHCA adopted revised criteria for this year's honorees. To qualify, a student-athlete must have attained a 3.75 GPA for the fall semester and participated in 40% of their school's games. There were 788 men and women recognized at the NCAA Division II or III level.
"These are exceptional individuals," said AHCA executive director Joe Bertagna. "The sport demands a great deal from these athletes so it is a great statement they make, individually and collectively, with their ability to attain this level of academic achievement."
Senior Austin Aksoy and juniors Kyler Magus, Aaron O'Neill, and Annie Dalton made the list for the third consecutive season while seniors Zach Feldman and Julie Unterseher and sophomore Josh Giacomin are now two-time honorees. Also earning the award for the Forester men were juniors Nolan Carothers, Mark DerManulian, Boyd DiClemente; sophomore Zach Leonard; and freshmen David Cohen, Ryan Kropp, Scotty Nicholson, and Drew Shields. On the women's side junior Makenzie Kamm, sophomores Emelia Edmondson and Megan Truman, and freshmen Karya Dean and Iman Shepard were first-time recipients.
