Four Divisional Titles for Foresters on Final Day of USHA National Collegiate Championships

Four Divisional Titles for Foresters on Final Day of USHA National Collegiate Championships

Members of the Lake Forest College handball team claimed four divisional titles on Sunday, the final day of competition at the U.S. Handball Association National Collegiate Championships in Tucson, Arizona.

It was an all-Forester final in two of the brackets, including a Men's A1 Singles championship match featuring sophomore Dylan Schmitt and senior Collin Peters, the team's top players. Schmitt came out on top 21-16 in the first game and 21-10 in the second, making Peters the division's runner-up for the second straight season.

The other teammates facing off on Sunday were freshmen Ray Vo and Seth Jayaprabhu in Men's B3 Singles. Jayaprabhu took the first game 21-6 but Vo won the second 21-17 and the tiebreaker 11-6 to claim the title.

Junior Josh Levin finished atop the Men's B1 Singles bracket with a 21-12, 21-7 triumph in the final while sophomore Parker McElroy was defeated 14-21, 21-8, 11-4 in the championship match of the A3 Division.

Senior Sarah Moskow also posted a runner-up finish in the Women's A2 Singles Division, narrowly dropping the final 20-21, 21-7, 11-9. She did prevail in A1 Doubles, however, teaming up with freshman Audrey Peters for a 21-11, 21-16 victory.

The Lake Forest men finished second in the team standings in the Open Division while the women were fifth. They placed fourth in the combined rankings.
