The Forester men's lacrosse team defeated visiting Concordia University Chicago 19-5 on Wednesday and has now outscored its two opponents 38-7 on the young season.
Sophomore Trip Gaston and freshman Brendan Herbert led the home team with five points apiece. Herbert scored four times and has seven goals and six assists already this spring. Gaston had four assists in the contest, more than any Forester in a game last season but one fewer than Herbert's total on Saturday.
Sophomore Bode Rubright matched Herbert with four goals while classmate Luke Bowers and freshman Ryan Dousevicz also recorded hat tricks with three scores each. Senior Bobby Ojascastro, who gave the home team the lead a minute into the game, registered his second straight multi-point effort with a goal and assist on the day.
Lake Forest freshman John O'Reilly was 11-3 on faceoffs and had a game-high eight ground balls in the contest. Fellow rookie Grant Pedersen won eight of his 12 faceoffs and the Foresters had a 20-8 advantage in that category overall.
The home team finished caused 10 turnovers in the contest, including three by sophomore Conor Murphy, who leads the squad with five on the year.
Four goalies each played a quarter for the Foresters with sophomore Andrew Widlar getting the start and the victory and freshman Jacob Lipson making two of the team's three saves in the game.
Lake Forest will take its 2-0 record to Beloit College on Saturday for a 1:00 p.m. start.
