The Forester women's lacrosse team prevailed 21-6 at Augsburg College on Saturday, thanks in part to a program record eight points from junior Ryleigh Nelson.

Nelson matched her career high with five goals and added three assists in the contest. She now has 19 goals and a Midwest Women's Lacrosse Conference-leading 25 assists on the year.

Forester sophomore Jenna Doctor scored four goals and junior Ali Graham three. Graham reached the 40-goal mark for the season and Doctor has 35, one shy of her total a year ago.

Sophomore Savannah Frauhiger and freshmen Shannon Gibbons and Isabel Bersie added two goals apiece. Frauhiger also established new career highs with three assists and five points.

Frauhiger also led the visitors with six draw controls and tied with sophomore Krissy Kuwahara for the team lead with five ground balls. Kuwahara, who also scored a goal in the contest, finished with a team-high three caused turnovers.

Lake Forest sophomore goalie Calliope Saban turned away 9 of the Auggies' 15 shots on goal for a season-high .600 save percentage.

The Foresters outshot Augsburg 38-20, secured 18 of the game's 30 draws, and racked up three more ground balls (24-21) while committing three fewer turnovers (20-23).

The victory raised Lake Forest's overall record to 6-8 and MWLC mark to 5-1 while Augsburg fell to 4-9 overall and 2-2 in the league.

The Foresters will play at the University of Wisconsin-River Falls Sunday at 12:30 p.m.
