Lake Forest Continues Indoor Season at Red Hawk Invite

The Forester track team traveled to Ripon College on Saturday for the annual Red Hawk Invite.

Freshman Trentyn Tyson turned in the top individual performance for the men's team, placing 11th in the prelims of the 60m dash with a season-best time of 7.47 seconds. That clocking ranks him third in program history. Tyson also finished the 200m in 25.56 seconds and the 400m in a team-best 57.81 seconds.

Fellow freshman Mason Wright was Lake Forest's top finisher in the men's 200m at 25.32 seconds while freshman Marcelo Cambia and senior Julian Cano led the team in the 800m (2:44.25) and mile (5:24.57), respectively.

On the women's side sophomore Delfina Jorgensen was the best of five Foresters in the mile with a time of 6:00.31.

Freshman AJ Jones matched Tyson's 11th-place finish in the 60m, finishing in 8.37 seconds, while classmate Jacquelyn Han led the squad in the 200m (30.72) and 400m (1:10.17) and added a 10.87 in the 60m hurdles. Rawya Mechta, another freshman, completed the 800m in 2:58.74.

Both squads fielded 4x200m relay teams that came within two-and-a-half seconds of the program records.

After a weekend off from competitiomn, Lake Forest will participate in the University of Chicago's Margaret Bradley Invitational on February 18.
