The Forester women's basketball team will start off the week Monday night with a non-conference home game against Illinois Institute of Technology.
Lake Forest is coming off a split of two Midwest Conference contests last week and is now 5-7 overall and in third place in the league with a 4-2 record during conference contests. The Foresters are hoping to defeat Illinois Tech, who enters the week 0-12, for the fourth year in a row. The team will then play a pair of MWC games on the road this weekend, beginning with Friday night's tilt at Grinnell College (4-6, 1-4 MWC), who the Foresters defeated 78-70 at home on December 2. Lake Forest will finish the week at Knox College (8-5, 3-2 MWC) on Saturday looking to end a three-game losing streak against the Prairie Fire.
The Forester men's basketball team also went 1-1 last week and is now 9-4 overall and 5-1 in the MWC. The men will also travel to Grinnell (8-4, 3-3 MWC) on Friday looking to sweep the season series and earn a third straight victory overall against the Pioneers. On Saturday Lake Forest will play at Knox (2-11, 0-6 MWC) in hopes of recording a fifth straight triumph over the Prairie Fire.
The College's hockey teams will also be in action on the road this weekend. The men split their two Northern Collegiate Hockey Association home games last weekend and are now 8-7-0 overall and 5-3-0 in league contests. They will play at Adrian College (11-4-0, 7-1-0 NCHA), the fourth-ranked team in the country, on Friday and at Trine University (2-8-1, 1-7-0 NCHA) on Saturday. The Foresters are looking to end a long losing streak against Adrian and will be playing their first game against Trine, a new program this season.
The Lake Forest women's hockey team also came away with a split at home last weekend, falling 3-2 on Saturday before prevailing 6-3 on Sunday in a non-conference series with Saint Mary's University. The squad is now 9-4-0 on the year and will travel northwest to the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire (7-5-2) for games this Friday and Saturday. The Foresters swept the Blugolds in 2012-13, the last year Eau Claire was in the NCHA, and are 18-13-7 all-time against their former conference rivals.
The swimming and diving team will return from its training trip to California this week in advance of Saturday's Illinois-Michigan Quadrangular at Hope College. The annual highly-competitive four-team event also includes Kalamazoo College and Wheaton College. The Lake Forest men placed third and the women fourth last year.
The only Forester team competing at home this weekend will be handball. Lake Forest will host its annual invitational doubles event on Saturday.
