The Forester women's tennis team was defeated 9-0 at Carthage College on Sunday in the final match of the 2022-23 season.
The closest of the three doubles matches was #2, where sophomore Sara Lopez and freshman Libby Moog were edged out 8-5.
Two of the singles contests were tied after two sets. Moog took the first 6-4 at #3 but dropped the second 6-3 and fell 10-8 in the super tiebreaker. Fellow freshman Rebecca Daskal was defeated 6-1 in the opening set at #4 before prevailing 7-5 in the second. Carthage came out on top 10-4 in the super tiebreaker and completed the sweep.
Lake Forest finished the year with a record of 11-10. Carthage improved to 8-7.
At 16-9, junior Margaret Bugnacki led the Foresters in singles victories while also matching Lopez with a team-high 15 doubles wins.
