Lake Forest College Athletic inducted 91 student-athletes into the school's third Chi Alpha Sigma class Thursday evening.
Chi Alpha Sigma is the first, and only, nonprofit organization that was established to recognize college student-athletes who excel both on and off the field of competition. Founded in 1996 by then DePauw University Head Football Coach Nick Mourouzis, Chi Alpha Sigma continues to provide outstanding student-athletes with an opportunity to become connected within a fraternal association that aligns their educational and athletic successes for a lifetime.
Chi Alpha Sigma recognizes college student-athletes who participate in a sport at the varsity intercollegiate level, achieve junior academic standing or higher after their fifth full time semester, and earn a 3.4 or higher cumulative grade point average.
While Lake Forest has been affiliated with Chi Alpha Sigma for several years, the 2023 induction class is the third in the history of the College and increases the total number of Forester inductees to 190.
Forester coaches presented inductees with medallions to commemorate their achievement.
"I am so incredibly proud of our 91 inductees," began Lake Forest College Director of Athletics Nicki Pieart. "Tonight's ceremony was an opportunity to celebrate what it means to be a student-athlete, to excel both in competition and the classroom. These Foresters have put in a tremendous amount of work to accomplish their academic goals and we congratulate them on all they have achieved."
