The Forester women's golf team began the 2022-23 season with a dual match against Elmhurst College at Lake Bluff Golf Club on Saturday.
Lake Forest's score of 352 was the team's best since April of 2021.
Freshman Sydney Foulon posted the lowest score in the field, carding an 82 on the 5,795-yard par-72 course. She needed just 41 strokes to complete each half of her round, which included eight pars and a birdie on the final hole.
Fellow freshmen Alijah Campbell and Niki Datangel were next on the team and tied-for-third overall with matching rounds of 87. They combined for 13 pars on the day. Sophomore Lucy Rayburn completed the Foresters' team score with a 90, to match the second-lowest round of her career.
Lake Forest will be in action again next weekend at Carthage College's Battle on the Border. The 36-hole event will be played on Friday and Saturday at Bristol Oaks Country Club in Bristol, Wisconsin.
