The Lake Forest College women's golf team won for the second time in the last three events on Friday, finishing first at the five-team WLC Invitational.
The Foresters had four of the top five finishers in the 26-player field with freshman Alijah Campbell's season-best score of 79 leading the way. She birdied the 332-yard, par-4 third hole and had nine pars, including six in a row on the back nine.
Fellow freshmen Gabrielle Krebs was second overall at 83, one shot ahead of classmate Sydney Foulon, who finished tied-for-third. Sophomore Emma Ackland placed fifth with a career-best 86 and freshman Niki Datangel tied for seventh at 90.
The Foresters' team score of 332 was 25 strokes better than runner-up and host Wisconsin Lutheran College. It was also their best round in nearly three years and the third-best in program history.
The event was played on the 5,618-yard, par-71 course at New Berlin Hills Golf Course in New Berlin, Wisconsin.
The next event on Lake Forest's schedule is the UW-Whitewater Fall Classic at Riverside Golf Course in Janesville, Wisconsin, next Friday and Saturday.
