The Forester women's golf team competed in the UW-Whitewater Fall Invite on Friday and Saturday and came away with a third-place finish at the eight-team event.

Freshman Gabrielle Krebs led Lake Forest for the third time in six events this fall. Her season-best round of 77 on Friday matched the seventh-best score in program history and her 157 for the two-day event ranks third in team annals. Krebs finished in a tie for fifth place in the 43-player event. She carded three birdies on the weekend and posted par on 19 holes, including eight in a row in the opening round.

Fellow freshmen Sydney Foulon and Alijah Campbell were next on the team and 20th and 21st overall. Foulon registered scores of 87 and 84 on the 5,843-yard, par-72 Riverside Golf Course in Janesville, Wisconsin, while Campbell followed up Friday's 90 with an 83 on Saturday.

Forester sophomore Emma Ackland placed 32nd and freshman Ashlyn Bahtia was tied-for-33rd.

Whitewater's top team won the event with a score of 612, 45 shots better than the Warhaws' second squad. Lake Forest was fourth after round one but climbed a spot with Saturday's 337, which ranks tied-for-seventh in team history. The Foresters' final score of 682 is the program's third-lowest 36-hole total.

Lake Forest will be back in action on Sunday and Monday at the Midwest Region Classic, which will be played at Brighton Dale Links in Kansasville, Wisconsin.
