The Lake Forest College women's golf team placed ninth at Carthage College's Battle on the Border over the weekend. The tournament was played at Bristol Oaks Country Club in Bristol, Wisconsin.

Freshman Gabrielle Krebs led the Foresters and tied for eighth place overall with a two-day score of 159. She recorded a birdie and 10 pars during Friday's round of 79 and Saturday's 80. Her score on Friday matched the 12th-lowest round in program history and her 36-hole total ranks fifth.

Fellow Forester freshman Niki Datangel was 43rd in the 89-player field with a score of 179. Classmates Alijah Campbell and Ashlyn Bhatia were next on the team at 183 and 188, respectively.

The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater won the event with a two-day total of 621, nine shots better than runner-up Aurora University, Lake Forest's 714 was three more than eighth-place Carthage and nine ahead of 10th-place North Central College.

The Foresters will compete in another two-day event next weekend. The Marian Invite will be held at Whispering Springs Golf Club in Fond do Lac, Wisconsin, with Friday's opening round beginning at 11:00 a.m. and Saturday's final 18 holes starting at 9:30 a.m.
