School Records Fall for Foresters at Beloit Relays

The Lake Forest College track team competed in the Beloit Relays on Saturday and found success in several different events.

Both school records fell in the 100m. Sophomore Mary Radziewicz finished ninth in the women's race in 13.13 seconds, which shattered the previous mark by nearly seven-tenths of a second. Senior Annie Pulaski's 13.51 was also faster than the former record and good for 16th place out of 33 runners in the event. On the men's side, junior Rayan Khalid finished 12th out of 37 competitors in the 100m and his time of 11.53 seconds broke the team record by a quarter of a second.

Radziewicz, Pulaski, and Khalid also fared well in the 200m, where Radziewicz set another program record with a time of 27.33 seconds. Pulaski posted a time of 28.97 seconds, which also would have broken the previous record. Radziewicz finished sixth and Pulaski 18th out of 38 runners in the event. Khalid was 11th and Forester sophomore Matthew Lungu 15th in the men's race, which also featured 38 competitors, and their respective times of 24.35 and 24.62 rank second and third in team annals.

Other highlights for Lake Forest included freshman Jacqueline Han winning her heat and placing seventh overall in the 100m hurdles and senior Lionel Whitehead finishing 10th in the 800m. In addition, freshman Michael Alade was third and senior Owen Bodine seventh out of 17 long jumpers. Their top leaps covered 6.18m (20'-3.5") and 5.78m (18' 11.75"), respectively.

The Foresters will travel to Wheaton College each of the next two weekends. They will compete in next Saturday's Don Church Twilight Meet before returning to Wheaton for the Elmhurst Invitational on Friday, April 28.
