The Lake Forest College women's lacrosse team was defeated 21-4 at Chapman University in Orange, California, on Monday.

The first of the Foresters' two games on the West Coast did not start well, as Chapman scored six times in the first seven minutes of the contest. The visitors got on the scoreboard at the 7:44 mark of the opening quarter on a free position goal by junior Ali Graham and, after two more scores by the Panthers, Graham struck again in the final minute.

Already leading 8-2 after the first, Chapman started the second with three more scores. A free position goal by sophomore Jenna Doctor ended the run and junior Ryleigh Nelson added a tally just 35 seconds later to make the score 11-4 with seven minutes remaining in the first half.

Lake Forest would not score again, however. The Panthers added two more goals in the second quarter, five in the third, and three more in the fourth to run away with the victory.

Nelson and sophomore Cass Barbera led the Foresters with three draw controls apiece and sophomore Savannah Frauhiger paced the squad with three caused turnovers.

The loss was Lake Forest's fourth in as many games this season while Chapman improved to 4-1.

The Foresters will play their second game in California Tuesday at 4:00 p.m. (PT) at Pomona-Pitzer Colleges.
