The Lake Forest College women's hockey team was defeated 4-0 at Middlebury College, the eighth-ranked team in the country, Wednesday night.
The home team took the lead four minutes into the contest and added a second score at the 18:30 mark of the opening period.
The Foresters were able to prevent the Panthers from scoring again until a pair of power play goals in the third period put the game out of reach.
Lake Forest senior goaltender Hannah Turnage made a career-high 58 saves, the third-highest single-game total in team history. Her save percentage on the season climbed to .934.
The loss dropped the Foresters' record this winter to 5-4-2 while Middlebury improved to 6-3-0.
Lake Forest will play its third consecutive game in Vermont on Friday when the team takes on Saint Michael's College at 6:10 p.m. (ET).
