The Lake Forest College men's basketball team dropped a 66-51 decision at Illinois College on Saturday.
Illinois College came into the game on a 13-game winning streak but the Foresters led by as many as seven points in the first half and 30-26 when it ended.
A 9-2 Lake Forest run to start the second half made it an 11-point game with 17 minutes to play. The Blueboys responded with 14 points in a row and, after a basket by Forester junior guard Alex Knight, continued to outscore their guests 24-9 the rest of the way.
Knight finished with a team-high 16 points and added a career-high eight rebounds. Senior forward Johnny Roeser was next on the squad with 13 points and he grabbed a game-high 10 rebounds for his sixth double-double of the year and 19th as a Forester.
The Foresters shot nearly 45 percent in the first half but just 36.2 percent for the game. Illinois College was at 40.6 percent and committed just nine turnovers to Lake Forest's 15. The visitors had a slight 38-36 edge in rebounds.
The loss ended the Foresters' five-game winning streak and dropped their overall record on the season to 7-9 and Midwest Conference mark to 4-3. Illinois College is now 15-1 overall and 7-0 in the MWC.
Lake Forest will travel to Ripon College on Tuesday with tip-off scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
