The first outdoor game in Forester women's hockey history highlights the final week of the fall semester for the Foresters.
Located less than a mile north of campus, The Winter Club was the full-time home of Forester hockey in the late 1960s. The Lake Forest men's hockey team returned to its former home for a game against Aurora University two years ago and the Forester women will take their turn against the Spartans on Tuesday. Lake Forest won 13-2 and 10-0 at Aurora last month and enters the week 7-3-0 overall and atop the Northern Collegiate Hockey Association standings with a 7-1-0 mark in league play. The Spartans are 1-9-0 overall and 1-7-0 in conference play during their first season as a varsity sport.
Since there is no parking available at the outdoor facility, a shuttle will run between the Lake Forest College Sports and Recreation Center and The Winter Club throughout the evening.
Both Forester basketball teams defeated visiting Cornell College Friday night and Grinnell College on Saturday and sit atop the Midwest Conference standings with a 3-0 record in league play. The teams will continue league play against Illinois College at home on Wednesday with the men tipping off at 5:30 and the women following at 7:30. After dropping their season opener, the men have won six straight contests and will look to improve on a 37-22 all-time record against the Blueboys (3-2, 0-2 MWC). The Forester women are 4-3 overall this season and 29-15 all-time against the Lady Blues (2-6, 0-2 MWC).
