Lake Forest College Hosts Special Olympics Aquatics MeetApril 01, 2019Lake Forest College had the chance to redefine the word “special” as it hosted the annual Region B Special Olympics Aquatics Meet on Saturday at the Sports and Rec Center. Over 190 athletes from Lake, McHenry, and Northern Cook county came to campus to compete in a range of swimming events from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Lake Forest has hosted the Special Olympics Aquatics Meet since 2011, when the NCAA Division III established a partnership with Special Olympics Illinois in an effort to create a mutual learning experience for both college athletes and Special Olympic athletes.
