In addition to several other sport-specific awards handed out at Lake Forest College's Fall Sports Awards Ceremony on Sunday, Becky Esrock, Ben Larsen, and Ellen Rogers were recognized as the Foresters' 2012-13 Junior, Sophomore, and Freshman Scholar-Athletes, respectively.
Esrock, a women's soccer player, completed the 2012-13 academic year with a 3.93 cumulative grade point average. The economics and international business double major was the Foresters' Freshman Scholar/Athlete in 2009-10 and earned Academic All-Midwest Conference honors after her sophomore and junior seasons. She garnered Second Team Academic All-District accolades from the College Sports Information Directors of America as a sophomore before being named Capital One Academic All-America Second Team by the same organization last year. She was also a Scholar All-America Second Team selection by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America in 2012.
Larsen, a football player, entered the fall of 2013 with a 3.75 cumulative GPA. The economics major was also an Academic All-MWC honoree following his first year of eligibility in 2012.
Rogers, a women's soccer player, finished the first two semesters of her college years with a 4.00 GPA. She was also named Academic All-MWC after her freshman season.
The College's Scholar/Athlete Award is given to the member of each class with the highest cumulative grade point average.
