Softball player Ashley Cuthbert was named Forester Athlete of the Week on Thursday after batting .500 with three home runs and seven RBI in a pair of doubleheaders over the weekend.
Cuthbert, a sophomore outfielder, was 1-for-3 with a three-run homer in the opener against the University of Chicago on Saturday. She was also 1-for-3 in game two.
On Sunday Cuthbert was 1-for-2 with a run, an RBI, and a pair of walks in game one against Robert Morris University. In the nightcap she became the ninth player in program history to hit two home runs in a game. She belted a solo shot in the bottom of the first inning and a two-run homer in the seventh. She also singled in the third.
Cuthbert leads the Foresters with a .520 batting average, 1.080 slugging percentage, four home runs, and 12 runs batted in, despite missing the team's first eight games of the season.
