Lake Forest College women's hockey player Jacque Rogers earned her second Forester Athlete of the Week award of the month on Thursday after helping the Foresters sweep a weekend series at Concordia University Wisconsin.
Rogers, a freshman goaltender, made a career-high 32 saves in a 3-0 shutout Friday night. She was busiest in the third period, making 13 save over the final 20 minutes of her third shutout in a four-game span.
The Foresters prevailed 2-1 over the Falcons 24 hours later and Rogers was nearly perfect in goal. After surrendering a goal late in the opening period, she kept the home team off the scoreboard the rest of the way, stopping 21 of 22 shots on goal on the night.
At 9-1-0 on the season, Rogers is tied for fifth in the nation in winning percentage. She is also eighth with a 1.10 goals against average and 22nd with a save percentage of .938.
Forester Athletes of the Week are selected by the Athletic Department on Thursdays. Rogers also earned the award on January 12.
