Lake Forest College's Jacque Rogers was named Northern Collegiate Hockey Association Defensive Player of the Week on Tuesday after recording a pair of shutouts in goal last weekend.
Rogers, a freshman, made 19 saves in the Foresters' 4-0 victory Friday night at Saint Mary's University. She stopped all seven shots on goal she faced in each of the first two periods and all five from the Cardinals in the third. It was her first career shutout.
Lake Forest blanked Saint Mary's again Saturday afternoon, this time by a five-goal margin. The home team put six shots on goal in each of the three periods and Rogers turned them all away once again. She became the first goaltender to post two shutouts in a single weekend since Brittany Lemke blanked Marian University on a Friday night and Saturday afternoon in January of 2010.
Rogers improved to 6-1-0 with a 1.27 goals against average and .916 save percentage on the season.
NCHA Players of the Week are selected by the league's directors of public relations and sports information.
