Lake Forest College women's hockey player Allie Girard was named Northern Collegiate Hockey Association Offensive Player of the Week on Tuesday after scoring four goals and assisting on four others over the weekend.
Girard, a senior forward, doubled her previous career-high for points in a game with four in a 10-1 victory over visiting Finlandia University on Friday. She assisted on one goal in the opening period and two in the third before closing out the scoring with a power play goal.
Lake Forest defeated Finlandia 9-1 on Saturday and Girard matched her point total from the previous night. She scored a pair of goals in the second period before recording an assist and completing her first career hat trick in the third. Two of her goals on the afternoon came on the power play and she was +4 on the day.
Girard now ranks fifth on the team with 13 points on six goals and seven assists this season.
NCHA Players of the Week are selected by the league's directors of public relations and sports information. Girard also earned the award once suring her sophomore season.
