Lake Forest College women's hockey player Olivia Spellmire was named to the D3hockey.com Team of the Week on Tuesday after racking up nine total points in a pair of victories at Finlandia University over the weekend.
Spellmire, a sophomore forward, scored one goal and assisted on three others in the Foresters' 6-1 win over the Lions Friday evening. She helped set up the official game-winning goal in the second period and two scores in the third before tallying the team's sixth goal herself. It was her seventh score of the season.
After setting a career-high with four points on Friday, Spellmire broke it with five less than 24 hours later. She assisted on three of Lake Forest's five goals in the opening period and two in the second of an 11-0 victory. Her five assists are the second-highest single-game total in program history.
Spellmire ranks second on the Foresters with 21 points this season and her 14 assists are tied for first in the nation.
The D3hockey.com Team of the Week includes three forwards, two defensemen, and a goaltender. It was Spellmire's second such honor this season.
