The Forester women's hockey team was defeated 2-0 at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire on Saturday. Lake Forest fell to 9-6-3 overall and 5-6-3 in Northern Collegiate Hockey Association play while the Blugolds raised their overall record to 11-5-3 and league mark to 8-4-2.
Eau Claire outshot the Foresters 8-7 in the first 20 minutes of the game and scored the only goal of the opening period at 12:26.
The home team doubled its advantage on what turned out to be the game's final goal three minutes and nine seconds into the second period.
Lake Forest was outshot 9-4 in the second period and 10-9 in the third.
Forester senior goaltender Alyssa Wintermute stopped 26 of 28 shots on goal in the contest and 51 of 54 on the weekend, raising her save percentage on the season to .926.
Lake Forest will host fellow NCHA member Adrian College next Friday night at 7:00 and again at 2:00 Saturday afternoon. Friday will also be Parents Night.
