The Lake Forest College women's hockey team won 4-0 at Concordia University Wisconsin Firday night. Forester senior goaltender Alyssa Wintermute earned her third shutout of the season and extended her team record in that category to eight.
Wintermute finished the game with 25 saves, including nine in each of the first two periods. She is now 5-2-1 on the season with a .928 save percentage.
Forester senior Melissa Kravich started the scoring at the 10:07 mark of the opening period with her fourth goal of the year. Freshman Sarah Gilbride assisted on the only score of the game's first 20 minutes.
Junior Jessica Dare doubled Lake Forest's lead with her team-high seventh goal of the season at 7:13 in the second period. Freshmen Stephanie Slinde and Maeve Connelly each earned an assist on the play.
The Foresters tacked on two more goals in the third period, beginning with sophomore Rosy Fujimoto's fourth of the season at 5:54. Classmate Jenn Caldwell assisted on the score. Gilbride then lit the lamp for the first time in her career at 13:02. The power play goal was assisted by Kravich.
Lake Forest raised its overall record to 9-4-2 and Northern Collegiate Hockey Association mark to 5-4-2. The Falcons fell to 9-8-1 overall and 7-5-1 in the league. The teams will face off again in Lake Forest tomorrow afternoon at 4:00 and a live radio webcast of the game will be available at www.wmxm.org.
