The Forester women's hockey team dropped a 6-1 decision at UW-River Falls Friday night. Senior forward Sam Herron scored the visitors's lone goal.
The Facons are ranked sixth in the nation and jumped out to the early lead four minutes and eight seconds into the game. The home team added a pair of power play goals to extend its lead to 3-0 after the first period.
River Falls tacked on a short-handed goal and a another score to take a 5-0 lead into the locker room at the second intermission.
Herron's goal came just 24 seconds into the final period. The unassisted power play score was her third goal of the season.
The home team added a sixth goal mid-way through the third and finished off the 6-1 victory and raise the Falcons' overall record to 4-0-0 with three of the wins coming in Northern Collegiate Hockey Association play.
Lake Forest fell to 5-1-1 overall and 1-1-1 in the NCHA.
