Lake Forest runner graduate student Audrey Paglia earned the women's Forester Athlete of the Week honors on Tuesday for her performance at the Midwest Conference Indoor Track Championships over the weekend.
Paglia completed her 800m race in 2:24.94. She edged out the third-place finisher by just .11 seconds and was only a second behind the front runner. The time is nearly two seconds faster than her previous career-best in the distance and moves her up to second on the program's all-time list in that event. The time and finish earn Paglia All-Midwest Conference honors for the first time in her career.
Paglie also anchored the team's 4x400 relay where she ran a personal best split.
The Forester Athletes of the Week are voted for by the athletic department on Tuesdays.
