The Forester men's hockey team had its season come to an end on a 6-3 loss at Milwaukee School of Engineering, the nation's #11 team, on Sunday. Junior Chad Thompson scored two of Lake Forest's three goals in the contest.
The visitors trailed 3-0 when Thompson lit the lamp for the first time in the game. The power play goal at 8:16 in the second period was assisted by sophomores Tom Bark and Zak Borowski.
M.S.O.E., however, regained the three-goal lead at 11:46 and had a 4-1 advantage going into the third period.
Freshman Michael Violette brought the Foresters back to within two goals 74 seconds into the third. Sophomore Ethan Goldberg assisted on Violette's second goal of the season.
The Raiders put the game out of reach with power play goals at 2:16 and 15:58.
Thompson netted his second score of the game and fourth this year at the 17:29 mark. He was assisted by freshmen Kevin Spotts and David Milne.
Lake Forest finished the season with an overall record of 5-21-1 while the Raiders advance to next weekend's Harris Cup Four with a mark of 21-5-1.
The Foresters will lose seniors Tyler Gross, Jordan Cutler, Zach Kozak, and Anthony Ventura to graduation in May.
