The Lake Forest College men's hockey team was defeated 3-2 by visiting Milwaukee School of Engineering, the 11th-ranked team in the country, Saturday night. Junior Chad Thompson's goal with 10:20 to play gave the Foresters the lead but they were unable to hold on.
M.S.O.E. started the scoring while on the power play just three minutes and 22 seconds into the game.
The Foresters tied the score with 62 seconds to play in the second period. It was senior Jordan Cutler's third goal of the year with sophomores Ethan Goldberg and Phil Bushbacher each earning an assist.
Goldberg also assisted on Thompson's second goal of 2010-11 at the 9:40 mark of the third period. It was his first multi-point game of his collegiate career.
The Raiders tied the score with 5:39 to play in the contest and netted the game-winner with 3:46 on the clock.
The Foresters fell to 2-11-0 overall and 2-6-0 in Midwest Collegiate Hockey Association play. M.S.O.E. is now 11-2-0 overall and 8-0-0 in league play.
Lake Forest will play a pair of crucial games against Concordia University Wisconsin next week. The teams will face off in Cedarburg, Wisconsin, Wednesday night at 8:00 and in Lake Forest Saturday at 7:30 p.m. A live audio webcast of Saturday's game will be available at wmxm.org.
