The Lake Forest College men's hockey team was defeated 3-0 Friday night at UW-River Falls, which was listed among the others receiving votes in this week's U.S. College Hockey Online National Top 15 poll.
Neither team scored in the opening period. River Falls finally broke the scoreless tie on a power play goal at the 10:10 mark of the second. The Falcons added a score at 16:04 and led 2-0 at the second intermission.
The home team tacked on another insurance goal with 1:23 to play in the contest.
Forester junior goaltender Marc Stuart made 40 saves in the game, including 18 in the second period. His save percentage on the season dropped slightly to .937.
The non-conference loss dropped Lake Forest's overall record on the season to 2-8-0 while th Falcons raised their mark to 4-5-1. The teams will face off again tomorrow night at 7:05.
