Lake Forest College women's hockey player Melissa Paluch was named Northern Collegiate Hockey Association Offensive Player of the Week on Tuesday for her performance in a pair of Forester victories over the weekend.
Paluch, a sophomore forward, scored a pair of goals and added an assist in Lake Forest's 7-2 victory over visiting Finlandia University Friday night.
The Foresters defeated College of St. Scholastica 4-2 at home on Saturday to move into a three-way tie for first place in the NCHA standings. Paluch scored the game's first goal eight minutes into the contest and her power play score early in the second period gave Lake Forest the lead for good.
After her five-point weekend, Paluch has 24 points on a dozen goals and as many assists this season.
NCHA Players of the Week are selected by the league's directors of sports information and public relations.
