The Lake Forest College women's hockey team skated to a 3-3 tie with visiting Bethel University Friday night. Sophomore forward Logan Taylor assisted on two of the Foresters' three goals.
Taylor set up junior forward Morgan Pope for the game's first goal just one minute and 50 seconds into the contest. It was Pope's 10th goal of the season.
The score remained 1-0 in favor of the home team until the Royals finally broke through for a goal just 50 seconds into the third period.
Lake Forest regained the lead 93 seconds later on the second goal of the year for freshman forward Isabel Regine. Junior forward Emily Wybo and freshman forward Allie Girard assisted on the score.
Bethel tied the game again just 24 seconds later.
Sophomore forward Michelle Greeneway, the Foresters' leading scorer, extended her goal streak to nine games at the 7:42 mark of the period. Taylor and sophomore defenseman Alex Stensland assisted on Greeneway's 17th goal of the season.
Still leading 3-2, the home team went on the power play with just 1:39 to play in regulation. Bethel, however, scored a short-handed goal to knot the score for the final time on the night.
Lake Forest out-shot the visitors 13-6 in the opening period and 14-9 in the third. Both teams put nine shots on goal in the second period and the Royals had a 4-1 advantage in the scoreless five-minute overtime.
The Foresters are now 7-3-3 this season and the Bethel 8-2-2. The teams will complete the weekend series Saturday afternoon at 2:00.
