The National Soccer Coaches Association of American released the 2014 NSCAA Men's College Division Scholar All-North/Central Region Teams on Wednesday and Lake Forest College's Ian Taylor was an Honorable Mention selection.
Taylor, a senior goalkeeper, finished the season with 54 saves, a 1.20 goals against average, and three shutouts. He held opponents to no more than one goal in 11 of 17 starts and made at least four saves seven times. Taylor ranks ninth in program history with 107 career saves and tied-for-fifth with seven shutouts.
Also successful in the classroom, Taylor owns a 3.74 cumulative grade point average and is double-majoring in secondary education and mathematics.
The Foresters finished the regular season with a 6-2-2 record in Midwest Conference play and reached the four-team MWC Tournament for the fourth year in a row. Taylor also helped lead the team to back-to-back conference titles in 2012 and 2013.
