The Forester men's soccer team was defeated 2-0 by visiting Carroll University on Wednesday in a between teams that have claimed five of the last six Midwest Conference championships.
Carroll took the early lead just 97 seconds into the contest and scored again at 25:51.
The Pioneers had a slight 7-6 edge in shots in the opening half and the Foresters evened the category by attempting nine shots to Carroll's eight in the second.
Lake Forest senior goalkeeper Ian Taylor made six saves in the contest, his second-highest total of the year.
The loss drops the Foresters' overall record on the season to 5-7-2 and their Midwest Conference mark to 4-1-2. Carroll is now 6-5-2 overall and 4-0-1 in the league.
Lake Forest will continue conference play on the road this weekend, taking on Monmouth College on Saturday and Illinois College on Sunday. Both games will begin at 11:00 a.m.
