An Augustana College score in the 18th minute turned out to be the only goal of the game as the Lake Forest College men's soccer team was defeated 1-0 at home on Friday.
The visitors had the better of the play in the first half and out-shot the Foresters 7-2 in the period.
Lake Forest turned things around in the second half but were unable to tie the score. The home team attempted nine shots to the Vikings' three in the final 45 minutes and forced the Augustana goalkeeper to make three saves.
Forester senior goalie Ian Taylor recorded a pair of saves in each half.
There was a light rain for much of the game and it picked up late in the contest.
Lake Forest fell to 1-4-0 on the season while Augustana raised its record to 3-2-0.
The Foresters will be in action next on Sunday at Edgewood College. The contest will begin at 1:00 p.m.
