The Lake Forest College women's lacrosse team hosted a defeated Augsburg University 21-1 on Saturday.
It was Senior Day and Morgan Harrison, the Foresters' lone senior, was honored on the field before the contest.
The home team took control of the game early, scoring five times in the opening period. Seven more goals in the second made it a 12-0 game at halftime and the Foresters added four in the third and five in the fourth.
The Auggies' only tally against Lake Forest freshman goalie Calliope Saban came early in the third quarter. Saban made five saves in the contest, raising the highest save percentage in the Midwest Women's Lacrosse Conference to 48.5 percent.
Freshman Cass Barbera scored a team-high four goals, including two just 12 seconds apart in the first quarter. Her second consecutive hat trick gave her 22 scores on the season, one more than fellow freshman Krissy Kuwahara and two ahead of sophomore Ali Graham. Kuwahara and Graham had two tallies apiece on Saturday.
Freshmen Abby Meyer and Savannah Frauhiger netted three goals apiece. Frauhiger, who has scored at least once in all 11 or her appearances, now has 20 on the year while Meyer raised her total to seven.
Additional two-goal performances were turned in by sophomore Ryleigh Nelson and freshman Ashley Carr, and they now have 17 and 16, respectively, this spring. Junior Emma Tryder, sophomore Lila Beckwith, and freshman Jenna Doctor each chipped in with a goal. Doctor leads the Forsters with 29 on the season while Tryder has 16 and Beckwith five.
The victory raised Lake Forest's overall record to 9-3 and MWLC mark to 4-0. The Foresters will close out the regular season against Hamline University, the other team in the league without a loss in conference play, Sunday at 11:00 a.m.
