The Midwest Women's Lacrosse Conference released its 2022 Preseason Coaches Poll on Tuesday and Lake Forest College ranked sixth entering the program's inaugural season.
Voting is done by the MWLC head coaches. Each coach votes for the other five schools in the league in order of predicted finish. Points are assigned in reverse order of voting (five points for first, four for second, etc.). Coaches may not vote for their own teams.
Defending league champion Hamline University was atop the poll with 25 points and five of the six first-place votes. The University of Northwestern was second with 20 points and received the other first-place vote.
Lake Forest's first season as a varsity sport will begin with a home game against Elmhurst College on March 1. Head coach Maggie Zentgraf's squad will play seven more times in March before opening up MWLC competition at Wartburg College on April 2. The last of the Foresters' five league games will be against visiting Augsburg College on April 23.
The top four teams in the league will qualify for the MWLC Tournament with the semifinals on May 4 and the final on May 7.
