Lake Forest College women's lacrosse player Krissy Kuwahara was named Midwest Women's Lacrosse Conference Defensive Player of the Week on Monday after helping lead the Foresters to victories in the first two games in program history.
Kuwahara, a freshman defender/midfielder, scored a goal, caused four turnovers, and recorded a game-high eight ground balls in the team's 15-4 victory over visiting Elmhurst University last Tuesday. It was the Foresters' first game as a varsity sport.
Lake Forest also prevailed 24-10 at Brevard College on Sunday and Kuwahara, registered a hat trick, assisted on a score, caused three turnovers, and added three ground balls in the contest.
She leads the team with 11 ground balls and 7 caused turnovers on the young season.
