The Lake Forest College women's soccer team defeated Dominican University 3-2 on the road on Sunday. Forester senior forward Holly Lesperance started the scoring with her fourth goal of the season.
Lesperance was assisted by fellow senior forward Michelle Greeneway at the 23:29 mark. Junior midfielder Lundsay Hartup then scored for the second time this year at 42:10, giving the visitors a 2-0 advantage at the end of the first half.
After Dominican got on the scoreboard three minutes into the second half, the Foresters regained their two-goal lead on an own goal by the Stars at 50:34.
The home team pulled back to within a score at the 65:47 mark but were unable to even the score.
Lake Forest out-shot the Stars 7-2 in the first hald and 10-9 in the final 45 minutes.
Forester freshman goalkeeper Kaylee Price made a pair of saves and improved to 2-0-1 on the year.
The victory raised the Foresters' record on the season to 5-2-2 while Dominican fell to 4-4-0.
Lake Forest will play its final non-conference game of the season Wednesday at 4:30 p.m. against Marian University.
