The Forester women's soccer team tied host St. Norbert College 2-2 Friday evening to remain unbeaten in Midwest Conference play. Lake Forest freshmen Holly Lesperance and Michelle Greeneway scored goals just 64 seconds apart in the first half.
Lesperance netted her ninth goal of the season at the 11:59 mark with fellow freshman Nicole Ostro picking up the assist. Greeneway then scored her team-high 11th score this year at 13:03 with junior Courtenay Raymond credited with an assist.
St. Norbert got on the scoreboard at 16:41 and the teams settled down and played scoreless soccer for nearly 70 minutes. The Green Knights tied the game with just 3:54 remaining in regulation and neither team was able to score in either of the 10-minute overtime periods.
Lake Forest had the wind at its back and an 11-8 advantage in shots during the first half. The Green Knights outshot the visitors 9-4 in the second. The Foresters attempted the only shot of the first overtime period and the home team had four tries in the second, although none of the shots in extra time by either team were on goal.
Forester senior goalkeeper Bri Schleibinger made three saves in each half.
Lake Forest is now 8-4-1 overall and 6-0-1 in conference play. St. Norbert is 8-2-2 overall and 3-0-1 in the league.
The Foresters will host Milwaukee School of Engineering next Thursday at 4:00 p.m. before resuming conference play against visiting Knox College next Saturday afternoon at 1:00.
