The Forester women's soccer team was defeated 3-1 at Edgewood College Wednesday evening. Senior Becky Esrock gave Lake Forest the lead seven minutes into the contest but the visitors were unable to score again.
It was Esrock's second goal of the season and she is now tied for fourth place in team history with 35 career scores. Esrock also jumped into the sixth place in program history with 84 career points.
Edgewood tied the score at the 9:10 mark and took the lead three minutes later. The home team tacked on its third and final goal at 57:45.
The Eagles outshot the Foresters 18-7 in the first half and 8-7 in the second. Lake Forest senior goalkeeper Bri Schleibinger made 11 saves in the contest.
The Foresters fell to 2-4-0 on the season while Edgewood raised its record to 5-1-0.
Lake Forest will being Midwest Conference play at home next weekend. The Foresters will host Grinnell College at 11:00 Saturday morning and Cornell College Sunday afternoon at 1:00.
