The Lake Forest College women's soccer team won 3-0 at Wisconsin Lutheran College Monday night. Freshman Holly Lesperance was one of three Forester freshman to score in the game and she leads the squad with three goals so far this season.
Michelle Greeneway was the first rookie to score in the game when she sent in a corner kick from junior Anya Moran just six minutes and 23 seconds into the contest. It was Greeneway's second goal of the year. Lesperance then doubled the visitors' lead at 23:48 and the score remained 2-0 for the rest of the first half.
Freshman Ellen Rogers netted her first career goal less than six minutes into the second half. She is the fifth freshman and sixth newcomer on the team to score this season.
Forester senior goalkeeper Bri Schleibinger played the game's first 70 minutes and junior Maeve Connelly finished off the shutout.
Lake Forest outshot the home team 13-3 and had eight corner kick opportunities to the Warriors' one. The Foresters are now 2-1-1 while Wisconsin Lutheran fell to 1-1-1.
Lake Forest will play a pair of games in the "Battle on the Border" at Carthage College next weekend. The Foresters will face the hosts Friday evening at 5:00 and the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh Saturday afternoon at 3:00.
