Four different players scored goals as the Lake Forest men's hockey team defeated Finlandia University 4-2 Friday night in an MCHA game at Alumni Memorial Fieldhouse.
With the victory, Lake Forest improves to 6-8-2 overall and 3-7-1 in the MCHA while Finlandia drops to 3-13 overall and 3-8 in the MCHA.
The Foresters got on the board just 41 seconds into the game as Jason McAloon scored on a wrist shot right in front of the goal. Andrew Stein assisted on the goal.
Finlandia's Sean Burke tied the game at 1-1 at 1:13 of the first period.
Lake Forest took the lead for good at 12:13 of the second period on a power play goal by Ben Certo and assisted by Charlie Stein.
The Foresters tacked on two goals in the third period from Roberto Caparelli (1:28) and Ian Pichel (5:52) to close out the scoring.
Lake Forest goalie Brendan Sullivan finished with 17 saves in the victory.
The two teams meet again on Saturday at 2 p.m. at Alumni Memorial Fieldhouse.
