The Lake Forest College women's hockey team, ranked 10th in the nation, was defeated 1-0 at #7 University of Wisconsin-River Falls on Sunday. Forester junior goaltender Allie Carter stopped 27 of 28 shots on goal in the contest.
Carter made six saves in the opening period, seven in the second, and 14 in the final 20 minutes. She improved her goals against average on the season to 2.09 and save percentage to .909.
River Falls scored the game'e only goal at the 2:11 mark of the second period.
Lake Forest out-shot the Falcons 10-6 in the first period but put just six shots on goal the rest of the way.
The non-conference loss dropped the Foresters' overall record to 10-7-3 while River Falls improved to 18-3-1.
The Foresters will play at another top-10 team, fifth-ranked Adrian College, next Saturday at 6:00 p.m. (EST).
