The Lake Forest College women's hockey team was defeated 2-1 at Adrian College, the sixth-ranked team in the nation, Saturday night. Senior forward Emily Wybo scored the Foresters' only goal of the contest.
Wybo's power play goal made the score 2-1 at the 16:53 mark of the second period. She was assisted by junior defenseman Alex Stensland and senior forward Morgan Pope.
Adrian had taken the lead with 31 seconds to play in the opening period and added what turned out to be the official game-winner at 5:32 in the second.
Forester junior goaltender Allie Carter made 13 saves in the first period and eight in each of the last two. She improved her save percentage on the season to .912.
Lake Forest is now 10-8-3 overall this season and 9-5-2 in Northern Collegiate Hockey Association play. Adrian improved to 18-1-4 overall and 13-0-3 in the league.
The Foresters will host a pair of conference opponents next weekend to close out the regular season. The team will celebrate Parents Day against Concordia University Wisconsin Friday night at 7:00 and take on Marian University on Senior Day at 2:00 Saturday afternoon.
