The Lake Forest College women's tennis team was defeated 9-0 at Wheaton College, the 14th-ranked team in the region, Friday evening.
The closest of the nine matches was at #1 doubles, where Forester sophomore Allison Watts and freshman Leeza Bodnar were defeated 8-3 by the 14th-ranked doubles team in the region. Watts also won three games against the Thunder's top singles player, who is tied-for-25th in the latest Intercollegiate Tennis Association Central Region rankings. The score of their match was 6-1, 6-2.
The loss dropped Lake Forest's record on the season to 10-9 while Wheaton improved to 19-2.
The Foresters will be in action again at Carthage College on Sunday. Lake Forest will take on Carthage at 9:30 in the morning and the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse at 12:30 p.m.
