The Forester women's soccer team won 3-1 at Cornell College on Sunday to complete a weekend sweep of the Midwest Conference's two members from Iowa. Lake Forest freshman Katelyn Hronek closed out the scoring with her first career goal.
Hronek's unassisted score came with 8:25 to play in the contest and helped secure the visitors' comeback victory.
Cornell had scored the only goal of the first half just 16 minutes and 17 seconds into the game. The Rams had an 11-7 advantage in shots during the opening period.
Lake Forest tied the score at 62:18 on sophomore Michelle Greeneway's team-high ninth goal of the season. She was assisted by freshman Nina Perkkio, who scored a goal of her own just seven minutes later. Perkkio's second score of the year and first career game-winner came off a corner kick by sophomore Sam Hillis.
Forester freshman goalkeeper Rachel Tenuta made three saves in the first half and two more in the second to earn the victory. She is now 6-2-0 on the season.
Lake Forest is now 7-2-0 overall and 2-0-0 in conference play. Cornell fell to 3-4-0 overall and 0-3-0 in the league.
The Foresters will host St. Norbert College next Saturday at 1:00 p.m.
