The Lake Forest College women's soccer team was defeated 4-3 at Concordia University Wisconsin on Saturday. Forester sophomore Michelle Greeneway netted a pair of goals and has six scores in three games this season.
After Concordia Wisconsin scored the first two goals of the game, Greeneway put the Foresters on the scoreboard with seven-and-a-half minutes remaining in the opening period. Freshman Nina Perkkio assisted on the score.
Greeneway also tallied the first goal of the second half when she headed in a corner kick from sophomore Sam Hillis at the 56:37 mark.
The Falcons regained the lead on their third goal of the game at 75:16.
Lake Forest junior Michele Gurovici netted her second goal of the season at 81:07, briefly tying the score once again.
However, Concordia Wisconsin scored what proved to be the game-winner just 13 seconds later.
The home team had a 10-6 advantagein shots in the first half and the Foresters outshot the Falcons 9-5 in the second. Lake Forest also had seven corner kick opportunities in the contest to Concordia's four.
Lake Forest is now 2-1-0 on the year. Concordia Wisconsin raised its record to 1-2-0.
The Foresters will host the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh Sunday afternoon at 1:00.
