The Lake Forest College women's soccer team fell 4-1 at Carthage College Saturday. Senior Becky Esrock converted a penalty kick opportunity for the Foresters' only goal of the contest.
Esrock's first goal of the season was the only score of the opening period and occurred at the 20:40 mark.
The Foresters had a 6-4 advantage in shots in the first 45 minutes but Carthage turned things around and out-shot the visitors 11-3 after halftime.
The Lady Reds tied the game four minutes and 16 seconds into the second half and took the lead with 19:37 to play in the contest. They added insurance goals at 76:17 and 88:12.
Lake Forest fell to 4-2-0 on the season while Carthage remained perfect in four games.
The Foresters will take on the College of Mount St. Joseph at Carthage on Sunday, the final day of the "Battle on the Border."
